In my last post, I wrote about fame and credibility in social networking. In short, you have to always boost your credibility while raising your online visibility level. (Read the whole post for my 3 things I look for when checking out a follower)
I’m posting today to ask you to share any stories of people you’ve followed on social media sites who turned out lacking in truthfulness about themselves, their business, or their experience.
No names or defaming (fyi, i can edit all comments so if you put something mean or nasty I’ll clip that out) but just truths that can help everyone out there understand the importance of leading with honesty and integrity.
I’ll post again asking about the great examples of credibility, but let’s start with the “what not to do” list first.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could wake up everyday and face your social networking with a sense of clarity, integrity, and authenticity? You know what I mean: never feeling like you’re shouting to be heard or acting out for attention.
It’s interesting how regressive some otherwise nice people can get when pushed into the big sea of being visible on Facebook and Twitter. It’s like all confidence in the power of their message gets lost as they rely on pushy tactics to try to turn a fast buck.
Join me in a collective groan as I reflect on the enormous amount of hard selling and pitching on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.
I’m down to two possible reasons why this is so prevalent:
1. Either hard selling works so well that it’s the reason everyone is using it,
or
2. people are so baffled at how to make money with social media that they fall back on old, tired tactics.
How can you focus on being the top of your niche when you’re busy doing piddly work?
I’m looking around at the high cost of not delegating and it’s not just chomping up hours in people’s days, it’s killing their profits.

Attracting leads and engaging new fans with social media gets a huge kickstart when you blend in the power of Joint Ventures.
Webster’s dictionary of law defines a joint venture as “a cooperative business agreement or partnership between two or more parties that is usually limited to a single enterprise and that involves the sharing of resources, control, profits, and losses.”
Joint ventures happen on many levels, big, small, and many degrees between. Like all relationships, you have a choice as to how deep you want to go with it.
