1st Quarter Visibility Goals Check Up

in Viva News & Events

Remember back in early January when everyone was blogging about their goals for the upcoming year? Like many others, I asked my readers about their visibility goals and got some great responses!

We’re now entering the homestretch of the year’s 1st quarter and I’m curious… are you doing what you said you wanted to do?

Just like gym memberships sell like hotcakes during the holidays (“This is the year I will have great abs!!” the people chant), so do dreams of making this the best year ever in your business.

And also like gym memberships, the euphoria of the 1st 30 days starts to wane and soon you find it’s July and you haven’t been to that step class for about 3 months…

I’m a big believer in baby steps to get a person out of the doldrums. Look back on your online visibility goals that you set for this year and ask yourself what baby step you can take TODAY to get started.

Need some guidance? Here are some ideas that will boost your visibility, seal in your credibility, and foster valuable relationships with your contacts. They’re quick and easy and can put you back on track to achieving your business goals:

1. Get to Know Your Social Networking Contacts Better

Take a look at your contacts and pick 2 people a week that you’ll invite to a personal conversation. I usually ask someone this question: “Tell me who would be an ideal referral for you.”  That is a great way to show you care about them and their success, and also to then share who YOUR ideal referral would be.

2. Read

People who don’t read are missing out… period. Read to build your knowledge, read to broaden your mind, read to entertain yourself.

I’ve always got 2-3 business books going at the same time, which can be about best practices or how to. From time to time an incredible novel or history book will completely mesmerize me which always freshens my brain.

Keep inspirational daily readers  in your bathroom, on your bedside, even in your car.

Books stimulate your thinking… and that could mean your next 7 figure idea!

3. Delegate

Another reason people don’t achieve their goals is because they have too much day-to-day administrivia on their plates and “things just don’t get done.” Look at the high cost of NOT delegating. When you free up time to work on your high payoff activities you create more opportunities to make money and get your powerful message out to the world.

No one has proven this to me more than my friend Sandra Martini, who I lovingly call “The Sass from Mass”. She recently told me in a very caring yet “I’m not gonna B.S. you” way how  I could get more payoff from my time and efforts and it has made all the difference in the world.

I want you to stand out and get noticed. I want you to be the highly visible messenger you see yourself as. So let’s all do a collective regroup and look back at those big visibility goals we set out only 60 days ago. Take a little action, take a lot of action, but take some sort of action. The world needs your message so no more hiding out!

Leave a comment: What have  you done to boost your online visibility these 1st 60 days of the year? What do you commit to achieving in the next 60 days?

  • Wow Nancy, thanks for the reminder to keep on working on our SN and not let momentum slip!

I have increased my Twitter followers and participation, I'm more active in my blog and last, but not least, I'm working on a podcast that will start broadcasting by the begining of June.

This is the year to build relationships, I believe. In trying times people will buy only from the sources they trust and not necessarily from the ones with more hype.

  • Yeah baby! I'm on those high payoff actions everyday. A few weeks from launching my niche marketing teleseminar for coaches and soon to launch my second Prosperity Inner Circle for well-established coaches. Thanks for the tickle.
  • First things first: Lovin' the Olivia Newton John! (I like to unwind with a little Xanadu, myself - always have had a thing for Muses...)

Wonderful post! Right on with the reading. I reached out to the author of a book that I just loved and wound up with my first celeb endorsement for both my website and forthcoming information product, which was pretty fun (and a new biz friendship, which is even better).

I am hyper-focused on signing on clients right now (after being hyper-focused on my website launch) so social media and visibility has come 2nd to all that thus far. But not for long!

Thank you for all that you do!

    bright blessings & massive success,
    Elizabeth

  • Congratulations Elizabeth on reaching out and scoring a celeb endorsement! Good to know there are fellow bookworms out there.

  • Hey Lady,

I think you were in my head today...was drafting my ezine article for tomorrow and it was on the same topic. Will now link to this post -- no sense recreating the wheel you so fabulously put out there.

Remember our chat...it's not about how much you make, but how much you keep -- know the ROI BEFORE you start the project! :-)

    Thanks for a great post!

  • Your constant reminder of ROI before a project keeps ringing in my ears. Thanks for sharing that with me and letting me share YOU with the readers.

  • Way to go! You're absolutely right about doing an early quarter review to stay on target. I get caught up in my daily and weekly goals, but it's just as important, if not more, to give yourself that extra push before the end of quarter. Thinking like that makes for a great year!

  • Hi Nancy,

Well, thanks to you, my visibility inspiration, I've redone my web site and blog. My web site to add all new packages and my blog to make it more of a SN blog. And, I've dusted off the old podcast and it's up and running.

I love your idea of contacting 2 SN contacts a week, so I think I'll add that to my list for the next 60 days, along with posting more to my blog. The more I post, the more good things happen.

As always, great post and great ideas!

  • I've taken my Twitter follower count from 500 to 1500 since January 1st by offering advice, sending personal DMs to everyone I follow, and being as helpful as possible. As a result, I've gained a lot of paid work and a book contract.
