Quibble with having a single category and excessive worrying about duplicate content: It is good to limit the number of categories, but having several tags is good. They sound and act similar but I treat tags as more of a &quot;loose list of keywords&quot; and categories as more of a hierarchy thing.  
 
You don&#039;t really need to worry about duplicate content if you&#039;re using robots.txt to prevent duplicate content indexing. Basically you just want individual posts, pages, and the homepage to be indexed. Everything else, like feeds and category archives you don&#039;t want indexed.
