Curiosity Trek Part 3- On My Bookshelf

The Curiosity Trek is a personal project of mine where I explore where my curiosity is leading me then turn the question to you.

On Curiosity Trek 2 I grabbed a pile of books from my “recently read” pile and shared them with you. Many of these books were on business, mindset, and social media.

Today I’m grabbing more from the pile and giving mini book reviews. These books are in the personal/pleasure reading vein and certainly not titles you’ll find in Fast Company or Inc!

Starting off with 2 incredible books by Joseph Marshall III  on the life of Crazy Horse and Lakota wisdom, I then review a book about identity in a multicultural/multiracial world. After that are 2 reflective memoirs, one about a woman in her 44th year, the other about a woman discovering insights into her late mother.

I wrap it up with two life transforming books on prosperity, each holding what I strongly feel is the missing piece in all the manifestation/law of attraction/prosperity teachings so popular today.

If you don’t see the player below, click HERE to watch the video review.

And as always, your comments and feedback are always welcome!

Titles reviewed in this video:

The Journey of Crazy Horse by Joseph M. Marshall III

Walking With Grandfather by Joseph M. Marshall III

Mexican Enough by Stephanie Elizondo Griest

The Slippery Year by Melanie Gideon

Not Becoming My Mother by Ruth Reichl

The 4 Spiritual Laws of Prosperity by Edwene Gaines

The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity by Catherine Ponder

Cool reviews Nancy, I totally love books on Native American wisdom. Reading about Crazy Horse really touched me very deeply. His courage bravery and vision are inspirational.

Thanks Ian! The world needs to follow more indigenous wisdom, IMHO.
Walking with Grandfather comes with a CD inserted into it that talks even more about Crazy Horse. It’s awesome. I listen to it all the time when I need a burst of courage. :-)

    Hi Nancy!

On one of our treks in our RV, we went to South Dakota and the Black Hills.

Do you know about the Crazy Horse Memorial? OMG! What a piece of art! A massive stone mountain carving like Mt. Rushmore just a few miles away only way more precise and colossal.

There is an Indian museum and all proceeds go toward the eventual Indian university they plan to have. Just looking at the artifacts and other things, I am very humbled and a little ashamed to be a gringa.

The have the face done, but it will have Crazy Horse on top of his horse when completed. The website is here: http://www.crazyhorsememorial.org/

We try to go back every few years to catch up. It's worth it!

    Thanks for the flashback.

I haven't been there before but it's a fitting monument to a great man!
