You’ve heard it all before. . .
- Reach for the stars
- Set big, bold goals
- Dream big
What if, instead of striving towards big, bold goals, which can be overwhelming, you set smaller goals – steps on the way to achieving your big goals? And each of these steps was made up of daily actions.
You can control your actions, you can’t always control how many people visit your site or purchase your products and services.
Forget about making $1 million in your business – a goal which can feel overwhelming and out of reach. Forget about making $500,000 in your business if that feels out of reach.
Focus instead on what actions you’re going to take today.
- Are you going to call 10 of your clients or prospective clients?
- Are you sending out a solo e-mail to talk about your latest free teleseminar?
- Are you connecting with people “live” through social media? If so, how much time will you spend?
- Are you writing 3 blog posts this week and commenting on 3 other blogs where your ideal clients hand out?
- Are you signing up for Nancy’s “I Heart My Biz” event to learn and network?
All of the above are actions that you can and DO control. By focusing on the daily actions that you’re taking, you’ll naturally close the gap and move closer and closer to your goals.
And if you don’t? Then there’s an issue between your message and your ideal client.
In essence, you’re downsizing your big goals into doable action steps that you’ll take.
Remember, doing the ordinary things consistently, day in and day out, is what brings you the extraordinary results.
