The Heart Based Entrepreneur’s Pain Point

Ouch!

There’s a common pain point among gifted, talented, heart based entrepreneurs- particularly those who do transformational work such as coaching and consulting.

The pain is these amazing people aren’t sure who they are anymore. There’s a feeling of being misunderstood in the marketplace, not having anything unique to offer, and worst of all, being invisible to their ideal clients.

My metaphor has been that it’s like a chair or table that keeps falling over because it’s only got 3 legs. You can pile tools and resources on top of it, but it will keep falling over until you fix the fundamental missing piece.

I know this feeling because I’ve experienced it, and I know clients, friends, and colleagues who’ve all gone through it (or still are going through it).

Not knowing your brilliance and how it can make money for you stinks, plain and simple.

You’d think all you need is to be full of passion and full of talent and full of experience and the world will come flocking to your feet.

Ain’t gonna happen.

There’s something missing and that’s the 4th leg your falling-down table so desperately needs.

I call it your Profitable Essence .

If you’re one of my email or blog subscribers, you’ve gotten more messages than usual from me in the past week promoting a free call February 3 where I’ll be doing live business makeovers based on finding the Profitable Essence.

(I’m willing to risk bugging people’s inboxes a few times more than usual to get this invitation out to those who need it. Because you know what? LOTS of people need it. More than you may even realize- and maybe it’s YOU who needs it too)

Your Profitable Essence is the soul-driven part of who you are… matched with entrepreneurial know-how and solid business sense. Imagine your vision board and your balance sheet falling madly in love… and everyone lives happily ever after. It’s where creativity, intuition, logic, and strategy meet to guide your business to a place of authenticity you’ve craved… but couldn’t capture.

During the promotion of this call, I’ve invited people to apply for the Live Business Makeovers by filling out a short survey and sharing some info with me.

The final question was a bit of a challenge, asking applicants to plead their case why I should choose them for a Profitable Essence makeover.

Here’s a sample of what people are saying… read these and see if you can relate:

  • Because I find myself remodeling my biz yet again and seem to have trouble figuring out what I really do for people… my profitable essence! It’s more than life coaching (I don’t do traditional coaching at all), it’s pathfinding, bringing clarity and direction, mentoring, nudging, and helping people reconnect with their heart.
  • I’ve struggled with this for a while and am ready to move past it and come out in a big way. It’s not about a tagline or a title, it’s about what makes me “me” and it’s time to nail it and share it with the world
  • I have done a lot of things right but not enough to get the recognition that I’d like to get. I am pretty sure that you can help show me how to do that.
  • I am the poster child for “talented and confused about what my profitable essence could be.”
  • I am working very hard (somedays 20 hours) and making NO money!!!! That is NO MONEY!!! I am in search of that final missing piece that will bring to me financial security, wholeness and the ability to transform myself so that I can help others transform.
  • I’m such a people pleaser that it’s hard for me to say no to things I know is not right for me to do or right for my business. For some reason I have a hard time coming up with my ideal life looks like. I’m just so practical it’s hard to dream.
  • Probably because I’ve tried everything I can think of to bring in more customers/contacts. There must be something that I’m missing. I do so much networking and maketing It gives me a headache.
  • I’ve found my calling, but my clients are not finding me yet. I know exactly what I want to do and exactly how I want to help my clients, but no one is asking to be my client. My client roster is empty, no matter what I do.

I love the honesty of the people who shared their responses and I invite you to ponder what’s missing for you.

I wish I could accomodate all these amazing people in the upcoming call, but alas time will not permit.

However, based on the last time I did a call like this, you will more likely than not hear your story (if not part of it) during the Live Business Makeovers.

Here’s a link and then a question—

Question: What’s the missing leg you see either in your business or the businesses around you?

If you read this blog, you know what I’m seeing… and I’m happy to be part of the solution, not the problem!

Hi Nancy,I've been following you for quite some time now hiding in the shadows so to speak and just listening. A While back you talked about being visible to your audience or target market. And I was really skeptical taking my services to the web in a visible way.But I finally overcame that hurdle. Thanks to your insight I've managed to break away from the norm and at least make a start at promoting myself.I think my missing leg was, and still sometimes is, is self promotion. To me it seems like bragging. And I don't like to brag. I guess it's a very fine line to straddle. But I guess if you want to put yourself out there, you've got to make a stand.Thank you so much for all your help.Tim

Tim, if you reframe it, you're not really SELF promoting, you're promoting a solution. You're the vehicle. Enjoy the ride!
