Facebook’s “Notes” feature is one of the strongest applications related to this highly trafficked site. In essence a blog, Facebook notes allows you to not only post your information, but to viralize it with the click of a button.
First you need to log into Facebook.
Once there, click on the “Notes” section from your right hand navigation menu. (It’s with all the applications).
You can directly enter your blog post, article, observations, tips, etc into the Facebook note.
Now once you’ve done that, you can start entering the names of people you know who you’d like to “tag” in the note. Tagging people is like tapping them on the shoulder, nudging them to come visit and comment.
Why? Because each time someone comments on your Note, it pops up in their Feed, giving you higher visibility.
Here’s a screenshot of a Note I wrote and a few people I tagged. I tagged them specifically because they are related to my topic (social networking).
Note: It’s bad Facebook etiquette to tag people ONLY because they have big numbers of followers and you want to ride their visibility without actually earning it on your own.
It’s hard to find the Facebook Help button, but at the bottom right corner of each page is a link for HELP. Simply find the Notes icon and you’ll open up a helpful page with questions, current problems, or anything technically related to NOTES.
But to REALLY get the most out of Facebook notes, import your blog’s RSS feed into the import options. Every time you post on your blog, it will automatically pop up as a Facebook note! Saves lots of time.
