Sizzibility (TM) is a word I invented one day while reading the book “POP!” by Sam Horn. This is a great book for jogging the creative juices to come up with titles and slogans that are Purposeful, Original, and Pithy.

In one exercise you have to list 2 words related to what you do, then try to create a new word out of them. I was playing around with the concept of helping experts add sizzle to their visibility and from that moment a new word was born: Sizzibility (TM).

Talk about an “Ah-ha!” moment. If you flip on the news or glance at pics in a magazine, many experts start to look and sound the same after a while. Where are the distinguishing factors? Where is the ability to stand out? Must everyone look like they just stepped out of a Pottery Barn catalog? Where are the anomolies? Where is the damn sizzle, I ask!

I realized that guiding all this normality was fear. Fear of standing out, fear of being labeled “offbeat” or god-forbid “different”. Isn’t it just much easier to blend in?

Sure, if you want to continue doing just that… blending in.

Sizzibility is the energy that will set you apart from others in a way that is authentic and true to you. It doesn’t mean you have to toss your pin striped suit and start wearing leather jackets and skull pendants. It’s just about you OWNING what is so wonderful and yes, QUIRKY about you and celebrating it. Celebrate it all the way to the bank as you become the person who stands out, gets noticed, and gets more business.

In this blog, I will be sharing Sizzible moments when they cross my radar screen. People, businesses, concepts, programs, movies, movements… if it’s got sizzle I’m going to find it and share it with you.

I also welcome your Sizzibility nominees, anyone or thing that you feel really stands in a positive and noticeable way. Drop me a comment or contact me with your ideas for people to profile.
