If you’re wondering how to stay visible on social networking sites without having to set your alarm at all hours to keep up with it…. then try using Google Alerts and Tweet Later for content ideas and evergreen info you can publish at your own pace.

Here’s the Viva Visibility secret recipe:

1. Set yourself up for  Google Alerts that touch on subject areas you are connected to. Use keywords and keyword phrases to trigger your alerts and keep a list of any worthwhile posts you would want to share with your contacts. Google alerts are sent to you via email and contain links to anything that came out on the web with those keywords. So for instance, if your keyword phrase is “marketing to women”, then every day you’ll get links to anything that pertains to that phrase.

2. Keep a running list of Google Alerts that have an “evergreen” feel to them. These are articles or posts that are not time sensitive and will be just as good a week from now as they are today.

3. If you don’t have an account with TweetLater (and if you don’t, you’re really missing out!), then get set up. TweetLater allows you to post-date your Tweets (Twitter messages)

4. Now go into your list of Google Alert links and pick out the best ones. Using TweetLater, write the title of the article or rephrase it slightly, then put that into the schedule Tweets to go out when you want them to.

This is a great strategy to use while you’re away on vacation, or simply need a friggin break from all that Tweeting!! It does get to you after a while, doesn’t it? :-)

You’ll still be visible online and your contacts won’t know if you’re at the keyboard or on a surfboard.

If you need help figuring out keyword phrases, bring your bucket and shovel to the Google Sandbox. Remember to tweak your keywords if you aren’t getting links that are relevant to you and your expertise.
