Online Visibility Tip: Listen to Your Kid

Out of the mouths of babes

I recently hosted two fabulous clients here at Casita Nancita (aka my house) for a private in-person retreat. For a full day we hammered out a solid plan for each person to follow and created a take-action-now revenue path that will continue to bless them with cash flow and great clients. They’re already successful and awesome, but we’ve now taken them each from good to great.

That evening, my daughter found the flip chart and markers still out and decided to have a little “workshop” of her own. If you want to see a great marketer in the making, please watch this. But also, ask yourself: If a 9 year old gets what makes for great marketing and online visibility, then you better know your stuff too!

I’d love your comments below (and yes, feel free to tell me what a great mom I am for raising such a creative child, I eat that up like candy). Or simply tell me what you’re doing to keep your marketing easy to understand and easy for customers to take action.

This is awesome! I love how simple and profound (and telling) her drawings are. And she is a pretty great artist, I must add! But no surprises with how smart she is–you ARE an awesome mom!

Thanks Jennifer, and your kids certainly are an amazing trio. You’ve made your work so much fun that how could they not want to emulate you? :-)

Cathy you’re da bomb! ! I love your energy and you must have left some of that sparkly attitude of yours in the house because it truly inspired Citlalli.

And big thumbs up to playing full out!!!

How do I get her to listen to me when I ask her to clean her room? I bet if I started a housecleaning business….

Your daughter is beautiful and looks like her mom! Loved this video.

My daughters like yours worked along side me being an entrepreneur while growing up… and now my oldest is working part-time editing my sales tips and articles.

We often laugh about how she saves me from flagrant, self-promotion and like you… it amazes me what she learned from watching all those years when I did not realize she was paying attention!

Mom to mom: You are doing more than you realize by the role model you are!

Too Cool!  Nancy, you have an incredible talent for taking moments in your daily life and seeing the business wisdom cloaked within.  You and Citlalli rock!

  • Mikhael Solenne

    Thanks, Nancy!   :)

  • Linda Mickle

Citlali’s a chip off the proverbial block :-)   Brings up the old question:  nature or nurture?

  • http://www.VivaVisibilityBlog.com NancyMarmolejo

Maybe a little of both, Linda!

I think it’s certainly time for the next gen of online marketers, hoping Version 2.0 can bring in a greater sense of collaboration and (really hoping) turn off the hype! Although Citlalli does have a knack for those flashing arrows and “click here” buttons so maybe she’ll create the hybrid breed. :-)

Thanks so much, Barb! My 5 siblings and I all grew up working for my dad, so maybe it runs in our genes!

Hi Mikhael! Really happy you stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you for the great work you do. :-)

  • Kathleen Aston

Love this!  See they DO listen to us…they just like us to think they dont.  And yes, you are the greataest mom raising such a creative child.  So funny. If a nine year old can do it…I can too!

Vow! That is the beauty of operating our business from home. I have found that kids do follow our actions, even though they may OR may not listen to us.
