Social Networking Landing Pages: Got One?

Not sure where to send your Facebook visitors when they land on your page? Wondering which of your many URLs to list on your Twitter profile?

Try creating a Social Networking landing page.

In essence, you create a page on your blog or website that introduces people to you. You list that URL  in your social networking profile instead of your regular web address.

A social networking landing page has the advantage of

1. Giving more information

2. Getting visitors to your site, which us traffic lovers always delight in.

Think of it as an extension of your profile with juicy benefits.

I like to include a description of who I am, who I work with, and share some more about the results I help clients achieve. I have links to resources and a paragraph at the end about me as a person. For my Facebook landing page, I was able to insert the code for my profile badge so people could see what I’m up to. I already have a Tweet stream on my page, so my Twitter page doesn’t need that.

You can check out my landing pages here:

Here are a couple others I highly recommend:

Darren Rowse aka @ProBlogger, has a great landing page full of info on himself and his work (I first heard this idea from him)

Laura Fitton aka @Pistachio features a page full of helpful links (Darren first saw Laura do this, so she’s the one to thank for this great idea)

Do you have a social networking landing page? Be sure to share it in the comments.

  • That is a wonderful idea! I usually go check out other people's web sites before I decide to connect with them. I'll have to incorporate that into my next web site updated.
  • I was always under the impression that people did not want to have to click to another site for more information.
Does it really get a better response to have a landing page?
