This is part 3 of a series of posts about increasing your credibility with social networking. Part 1 covered the essentials for a great profile, Part 2 discussed how to leave a good trail of links.

Part 3 is essential if you want to show true street cred:

Credibility Tip #3: Publish, Publish, Publish!

You can establish yourself as an expert voice fairly quickly if you author articles, tips, and blog posts on your particular topic. Publishing frequently supports your claims to being an expert by providing tangible proof that you know what you’re talking about

It also fills the search engines with pieces of information connected to your name. Each article or blog post you author will be indexed for others to access.

As you establish yourself as an expert, having a strong cache of Google proof will give your social networking followers something besides your Facebook profile to latch onto.

My friend Michele PW is great at consistently publishing articles and press releases. I did a search on her name the other day and her articles are EVERYWHERE.

(Tip: you’re probably wondering where some good places are to publish. Just click on Michele’s link and you can see the various article directories she publishes to)

Are you publishing your expertise online? If yes, how is it working out for you? If no, what is stopping you?

Great message.. when I first brought my business online, I remember the first time I googled my name and there wasn't much there. Now, after consistently posting articles, press releases, blogging, etc.. I find thousands of links when I google Vicki Zerbee! The key is to share what you know that will benefit others!
