Visibility and Your Life Potential

Visibility and Your Life Potential: yes, a heavy topic but not one that can go ignored!

It’s amazing how showing up in our businesses impacts our personal paths. Being an entrepreneur introduces opportunity after opportunity to learn about yourself, others, and the world. It’s a constant exercise in taking risks and reaping rewards. You learn what captures people’s attention and what makes them tune out. You learn how to find your voice, your style, and to maximize those. You learn about acceptance, rejection, having it all go your way, and having NOTHING go your way.

In essence, it’s a microcosm for every spiritual and life lesson we could ever hope for.

Letting the world know about you, your business and the results you help others achieve is part of this path. The very act of getting your name out there immediately bumps up against fears, concerns, and shadows we all need to understand.

Ask yourself these questions… where do you fall in the spectrum?

  • Do you shy away from the spotlight... or are you hooked on the attention?
  • Are you afraid of what people think of you… or so unconcerned you become arrogant?
  • Do you want “hands off visibility” where you never actually have to show up…. or are you spending way too much time being seen without ever actually getting anything done?
  • Are you afraid to let the “real you” out there… or are you going overboard by publicizing each personal drama in lieu of marketing?

Ask yourself these questions on an ongoing basis and let them serve as a mirror for how you show up in your business and in your life. Look how where you are is interfering or supporting your day to day business responsibilities: how you sell, how you talk about your business, who you align with, where you can be found, what topics you address.

So much of business overlaps into our personal lives. Where are you on the spectrum? Share your comments below.

I think that people who are arrogant are not unconcerned about what others think of them – they are actually trying to appear unconcerned and superior – people who are really not concerned do not react.
